Danielle’s Oscar 2012 Dress Picks

29 Feb

It’s taken me a few days to figure out who I think the Best Dressed winner is for the 2012 Oscars. There were some extremely tough contenders this year so I had to take my time to decide.

Can you even believe Rooney Mara isn’t my top pick? She got beat by her could be Grandma. Meryl Streep is my Best Dressed choice and not just because this dress looks like it came out of my closet.

2nd Best Dressed award goes to Rooney Mara. I just can’t get enough of her amazing contrasts and sharp edged looks. She always takes chances and it’s always right. Who else looks this glamorous in a ponytail?

Jessica Chastain in a custom made Alexander McQueen and spectacular Harry Winston yellow diamonds.

Completely obsessed with Octavia Spencer! Work it, Octavia.

I think some people looked better AFTER the awards! Jennifer Lopez looked stunning before and after but I feel like she switched her “look” up more for the Vanity Fair after party. She took my breath away.

Katy Perry killed it. K I L L E D  I T.

Katy Perry in Blumarine

Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad

I don’t know what Michelle William’s look has to do with the Oscars, but I love it anyway!

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton

Worst Dressed. I only have one person for this and I know that everyone is going to disagree. I hated this look. Its not the worst dress in the world, but it does nothing for me and everyone adored it. I don’t get it which is why I must choose Gwyneth Paltrow as Worst Dressed. Sorry.

Style Profile at Ovvio Arte: Tender Moments by Exhibitionist Garland Gallaspy

20 Feb

I attended Ovvio Arte’s gallery reception of Tender Moments by Exhibitionist Garland Gallaspy last Thursday. My friend Janal Montagna and I hit the scene to capture what Nashville’s finest were wearing. The event was well attended, yet intimate enough to capture the Style Profiles we were seeking. Here are some of the looks on Nashville’s style horizon.

Ovvio Arte

Seth Sutton, Bruno Mars anyone? Mixing a colored print with leather. The worn shoes are a nice touch.

Mandy Mcbroom,  Layered necklaces look great with this country prairie inspired blouse. The Red boots gives the outfit the extra edge.

Selena Kirchhoff, The hat does it for me. Combine that with pinstripe pants and I’m sold.

Lindwood Reensburg Jr,  Different shades of denim. Not too perfect, and that’s why it works.

Jessi Darlin,  Oversized blazer mixed with lace. Eye makeup adds drama.

A Perfect Pair -Brooke Bernard,  a sweet neutral print and rugged worn boots and Omid with his leather and graphic tee.

Seth Sutton and Jon Sewell, bahaha I think it speaks for itself.

Jon Sewell in his vintage track jacket with bright shoes. Young and fresh.

VeeDee Band

Black Cat Leather Jacket, this jacket was a favorite of ours. Very cool.

Jean Jacket with Flair.

Conversation starter.

Live Talent

Carmen Jaudon is fun and funky with her mixing prints, fur and color.

Libby Callaway, makes a statement with this print. Necklace is unexpected but it works.

Lauren Hudgens, each piece here is wonderful, but all together it’s magic. Add a pop of color with bright lips.

Brooke Bernard The devil is in the details. Polka dot leggings.

Rachel Korine, the Perfect Rainbow. Don’t be afraid of color.

Kayla Bishop, pulls her dress together with an edgy style, her leather jacket and combat boots.

Sashay Shoes

2 Dec

The All Most Famous team was invited to the Launch for Sashay Shoes at the Holland House!  My good friend since grade school was in town so I thought it would be fun to bring her along to experience what All Most Famous does. The Holland House was a great venue similar to a speak-easy; we enjoyed mingling with local fashion lovers and getting to know the ladies who made Sashay Shoes possible.

Jen Neu, the founder of Sashay Shoes, brought to life an online webstore for shoe lovers like her. She wanted to create the experience she loved which all started from a game she used to play with her girlfriends. They challenged each other to see who could find quality fashion and shoes at killer prices. This little game inspired her to create Sashay Shoes, she wanted to share her favorite experience with other shoe lovers out there.

I was excited because let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t love shoes? I know I do! Ladies, I know how many hours I can spend trying to find that perfect pair. I have this idea in my head of what I want, it’s just the matter of where I can find them and at a decent price. I’ll tell you it can be frustrating, but here’s a little secret, Sashay Shoes just launched for shoe lovers that don’t have the time to go bargain hunting, instead Sashay does it for you. They have shoes in different colors, styles and budgets which will be sure to get you noticed. How fabulous is that?  So if you’ve found yourself spending hours to find that perfect pair of shoes too but have come up empty-handed then check out Sashay Shoes today, they’ll be sure to have something you’ll like!

RAWards Nashville 2011

28 Nov

Walking into a RAW event for the first time feels like the first time you saw the movie Moulin Rouge, it is a sensory overload in the very best of ways. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by artisans of all kinds, showcasing the world’s of fashion, art, photography, music, visual art, performance, accessories and more.  Each artist has chosen a selection of their finest work and they are ardent and enthusiastic about sharing their vision with every attendee.

Last Friday was no typical night, it was the RAW Awards, a night where the best of the best in local independent artistry come together to compete for  career-building prizes such as gallery placement, boutique placement, big consultation and RAW’s Golden Ticket. The All Most Famous team went out to support the event and we were not disappointed.  We were inspired by the intense creativity and passion of the RAW team as well as the artists that were involved. If you are a local talent and would like greater visibility I would highly recommend checking out http://www.rawartists.org/nashville and getting involved!

Yelp Helps! at Marathon Music Works

22 Nov

Just like old times, Britt and I finally got the opportunity to go to an event together. Our plan was to go to Yelp Helps! at Nashville’s newest live music venue, Marathon Music Works, sample the wonderful hors d’oeuvres from Arnold Myint’s various restaurants and take a look at all the non-profits that we would like to get involved with during the upcoming season.

That was the plan…what really happened is we had a blast, socialized, enjoyed the open bar and each other’s company… a little too much! We barely took any photos. Whoops. So just trust me, it was a great event and Marathon Music Works is an amazing venue. I can’t wait to see concerts there!
