Nashville Fashion Week 2012 Is Gearing Up

6 Feb

NFW 2012 is coming soon. You can purchase tickets now and VIP tickets are on sale until this Wednesday, February 8th!

There was an event about a week ago at Hutton Hotel where NFW made some announcements and got us all giddy about the things that are to come. The people/place/fashions were beautiful and I had a blast catching up with friends…some of whom I haven’t seen since NFW 2011.

I apologize for the red eyes. #iPhoneproblems . I solemnly swear to bring a real camera next time.

I love local fashion and it makes me happy to know that you can find the best clothing looks for men and women right here in Nashville, TN. Although the media portrays Nashville as one giant honky tonk, in real life we are full of artistic expression, creative energy and yes, even fashion.

Now regardless of where you live, you can get your hands on a piece of Nashville’s very best! Men’s vintage clothiers, Tidwell and Perryman, have launched a web store! The always unique, always on trend, vintage looks from T&P are now just a click away. So go get you some! Click here to view their store.

FASHION FRIDAY 12 – Look Hot When It’s Cold

20 Jan

Just because it’s cold outside, it doesn’t mean you can’t still look hot. Check out these winter looks to keep you looking good when the weather isn’t.

Danielle’s Golden Globe Picks

19 Jan

I despise boring dresses. D E S P I S E. I can’t handle that the dresses on the “best dressed” list are always the super typical ones with a tight fit, a small amount of sparkle and almost zero jewelry. That is just so LA and so overdone.

I was pleasantly surprised with this year’s Golden Globe clothing choices. Some of the ladies really brought it and stepped out of the normal mold. It was actually an exciting red carpet. Who knew?!

My favorites are…

Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci

I just can’t get enough of Rooney Mara. She is number one to me.

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

I know that this is an obvious choice but it’s so good that it can’t be denied! Charlize is wowing me in this.

Salma Hayek in Gucci

Salma Hayek is the gift that keeps on giving.

Kate Beckinsdale in Roberto Cavalli

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone look this flawlessly sexy before. Ever.

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann

Tilda Swinton is everything.

Jessica Biel in Elie Saab

This look landed Jessica on a lot of worst dressed lists this year. I disagree! Just because she isn’t showing off her body? I love this more modest approach to style. Plus, she looks so romantic! Just gorgeous.

Now here is my crap list…

Nicole Kidman in Versace

This is just too much Nashville for me.

Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier

This would be beautiful in a photo shoot but it’s a disaster on a runway.

Zooey Deschanel in Prada

I don’t care what anyone thinks. I hated this dress with a passion. But Zooey’s nails ruled the night.

Sashay Shoes

2 Dec

The All Most Famous team was invited to the Launch for Sashay Shoes at the Holland House!  My good friend since grade school was in town so I thought it would be fun to bring her along to experience what All Most Famous does. The Holland House was a great venue similar to a speak-easy; we enjoyed mingling with local fashion lovers and getting to know the ladies who made Sashay Shoes possible.

Jen Neu, the founder of Sashay Shoes, brought to life an online webstore for shoe lovers like her. She wanted to create the experience she loved which all started from a game she used to play with her girlfriends. They challenged each other to see who could find quality fashion and shoes at killer prices. This little game inspired her to create Sashay Shoes, she wanted to share her favorite experience with other shoe lovers out there.

I was excited because let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t love shoes? I know I do! Ladies, I know how many hours I can spend trying to find that perfect pair. I have this idea in my head of what I want, it’s just the matter of where I can find them and at a decent price. I’ll tell you it can be frustrating, but here’s a little secret, Sashay Shoes just launched for shoe lovers that don’t have the time to go bargain hunting, instead Sashay does it for you. They have shoes in different colors, styles and budgets which will be sure to get you noticed. How fabulous is that?  So if you’ve found yourself spending hours to find that perfect pair of shoes too but have come up empty-handed then check out Sashay Shoes today, they’ll be sure to have something you’ll like!

RAWards Nashville 2011

28 Nov

Walking into a RAW event for the first time feels like the first time you saw the movie Moulin Rouge, it is a sensory overload in the very best of ways. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by artisans of all kinds, showcasing the world’s of fashion, art, photography, music, visual art, performance, accessories and more.  Each artist has chosen a selection of their finest work and they are ardent and enthusiastic about sharing their vision with every attendee.

Last Friday was no typical night, it was the RAW Awards, a night where the best of the best in local independent artistry come together to compete for  career-building prizes such as gallery placement, boutique placement, big consultation and RAW’s Golden Ticket. The All Most Famous team went out to support the event and we were not disappointed.  We were inspired by the intense creativity and passion of the RAW team as well as the artists that were involved. If you are a local talent and would like greater visibility I would highly recommend checking out and getting involved!

Yelp Helps! at Marathon Music Works

22 Nov

Just like old times, Britt and I finally got the opportunity to go to an event together. Our plan was to go to Yelp Helps! at Nashville’s newest live music venue, Marathon Music Works, sample the wonderful hors d’oeuvres from Arnold Myint’s various restaurants and take a look at all the non-profits that we would like to get involved with during the upcoming season.

That was the plan…what really happened is we had a blast, socialized, enjoyed the open bar and each other’s company… a little too much! We barely took any photos. Whoops. So just trust me, it was a great event and Marathon Music Works is an amazing venue. I can’t wait to see concerts there!
